I have a four inch senegal in a tank with a lot of snails. They're small. If I don't feed him his shrimp pellets for a while, will he take care of the snails for me and it would be okay for him nutritionally?
Will he eat the snails?

mine only eats them after they are dead a couple days(apple snails)

what kind of snails if apple or larger ones then they should be fine but small ones may be made into a snack
Small ones, those brown ones. They never grow very big for some reason. This afternoon, my bichir was burying it's head in a bunch of snails.... What the heck was he doing??? He didn't eat any.

i shall check my pond as i had a few apple snails left after the CLs were done with them
and try putting them in my ornates growout tank and see if they go after the snails

The canister filter in my Bichir tank is FULL of little snails yet there are none in the tank...hmmmmm....but then again I've never actually seen my bichirs eating them. Also - my ornate is always chubby yet he hardly eats the actual food I feed them.
