Will my green terror ever stop being shy and come up to the surface to eat floating pellets, and is there a fis to encourage him to come out of his cave?

Yeah.
Buy him some dither fish. Such as Giant Danios. They will encourage him to be less shy and come out more. If he is young, be patient. I myself have had fish take almost a year to come out of their shell.

how longs it been in the tank????what are its tankmates???green terrors are usually not shy.mine would eat all the pellets,every piece of food i put in the tank if it could lol

it should definetly grow out of being shy Gt's can be crzy . but if you want to get him out NOW! try dither fish like they said giant danios gourami's are supposed to be good dithers but the will be killed in a cichlid tank! so probably something larger not agressive and fast!
