I had my 125 on this stand for a while untill i decided to put it on the floor because i didnt think the stand was reliable. I now realize the floor is uneven and some parts of the tank are not touching the floor which also worries me. Im considering building my own stand, but before i do, Any input on weather this stand is relaiable or not? The wood holding it up is less than half an inch thick. It just doesnt look strong...has anyone had any experience with this? Thanks

Hard to say with no pictures of the structural components, but I would think that stand would be fine... It looks similar to the one I got with my 125... Are there any additional supports in the corners and between the cabinet doors?

I would NOT have a 125 gallon tank filled with water on an uneven surface!

Honestly, it looks just fine. If it's designed to hold that much water, it probably will.

Post a pic of the inside?

Is it a glass tank, does it have polystyrene under it, if the bottom is not fully supported you have a very good chance it will fail.

If as you say it's not touching the stand in places then I would seriously advise you not to fill it! Sort the stand out first, preferably sit the tank on polystyrene and make sure it's sitting evenly before filling.

If it's a manufactured stand and shows no damage it will hold, even if it looks super flimsy. If its a diy stand and had been used already for that size tank then it should also be fine, but without seeing the build from the inside, there's just no way of telling how well it's built.

Since its the floor that's uneven, just use door shims under the stand to get the stand leveled. Once the stand is leveled and the tank on the stand is also leveled and making solid contact all around, you're good to go.

I agree on all counts, as I believe the rest of us who have responded would. Xraycer did a better job of hitting all the points in one post...
