3 months or so ago, I bought a couple of Red snakeheads.

To start with they were in the same tank and no problems, they ate together, slept together and played together...

As time passed, one of them grew to be quite bigger than the other, so i moved that to a new tank.

Today, i moved the other one over to the same tank, since the org. tank was getting a bit too small.

The bigger of them is around 25 cm and the smaller around 18.

Now, the bigger has starting to chase and bite the smaller, i sort of think it wants to show who's boss.

What do you think?..will it work out or should i move it back?

Same goes for my g's,i had 5 in one tank with one dominate one that was beating all but one up so i move the three.now the tank with the three, there has become one dominate that beats one up for a couple days then moves to the other one and back and forth etc etc,so im in the same predicament as you.

Its hard to say, just keep an eye, if you see the bites are really aggressive where yuou think theyre trying to kill the other then you will have to keep it seperated. If you see constant chasing and biting then its probably trying to kill it. If you see it where the chasing and biting happens only when the other fish gets near the other, then its probably just showing whos boss.

pro if you two that are in the original tank are not fighting i would leave them together on own , they sound like they have found themselves a pair out of the group

viking , should work out at that size , i would keep all three together , if you have to put all three in the origianl take for a day or so , then move all at same time back to bigger tank , it should work out , but keep close eye on things

cheers col

Well, it looks like things are working out between them!

After the initial scrabble, things are quiet now...they are swimming peacefully around each other.

The smaller one did sustain some fairly nasty bites, so i am going to watch out for any secondary infections that might appear.
