BB (beneficial bacteria) that is...

my already cycled tank/filters will be without fish for potentially 3-6 hours

and my plan was to either dump some fish food, or raw pealed shrimp into the tank to give the bacteria something to eat during this time....

any suggestions?

3 - 6 hours? That's nothing.
They're fine. There's plenty of junk in the tank/filters for the BB to live off for a long time.

3-6 hours you should be fine just letting it run.

as already said you will be 100% fine. no problem what so ever

3-6 hours should be fine. But does anyone know how long BB can last without fish? And what would you have to do to keep maintaining the
BB alive without fish?? Just incase you want to leave an already cycled tank to add fish later on.

simple you just need a source of ammonia, pretend you have fish in the tank and feed it with fish food or if you want to just forget about it buy an automatic feeder and just top off when the water gets low.
