I just picked up an nice sized L25 and and been told it may chew up my acrylic. I currently do not have any driftwood in tank . Its eating pellets already .

Ive mostly heard concerns about keeping Panaques in acrylic tanks. But honestly any pleco probably has the potential to rough up the acrylic a bit.

Depends on the individual.

Maybe strategically decorate the tank? Lots of light near the front pane, so it doesn't go near the front when the light is on and scratch it. Lots of stone/driftwood to protect the side. A good cave near the middle.

I always thought that if I ever get another acrylic tank, during the build if I gave the builder a sheet of glass that can fit inside the tank for the front and sides, if that would be a quick fix to plecos chewing craters in the acrylic.
