I have a large community tank with a Dat, a CK and some other fish. Right now the Dat is about 2" and the CK is about 5". Assuming they are both healthy and well fed, will the CK grow so much more quickly that he will be trying to eat the Dat before long? Will their growth rates be close enough so that the Dat always stays too big to swallow? I've never had a Dat, but I know they are slow growers. Just trying to plan for the future. Any help would be appreciated.

CK's grow much quicker than datnoids. im shocked the 2" dat isnt gone yet. i would just make sure that the CK is very full all the time, especially before the lights go out.

it wouldve been better if u get a datnoid that was the same size or a little bigger. a 5" datnoid would probably not be able to swallow a 5" CK. maybe having feeders and hiding places will help and hopefully they will coexist together.
I have a 4-inch CK with my 5 inch thinbar dat and have no problems at all. They've only been together for a week, though. Lets look at the worse case scenerio between a 5 inch dat and 4 inch CK. Lets say the CK has a huge growth spurt and hits 12 inches in 6 months. By that time, the dat should have grown at least 2 inches which would make it 7 inches. I can't imagine a 12 inch CK eating a 7 inch dat. I would not do a 5 inch CK with a 2 inch dat, though. That's asking for trouble.
i had a clownknife that was 7 inches long and ate feeders that where 2.5-3 inches long, your asking for trouble there bro
Clown Knives are not to be trusted with smaller fish, They can and will eat anything small enough to fit in there mouths.
