Will my female festae ever get bars?

Hey I picked up this female festae(3.5"), along with a male (4") at my lfs two days ago. Both fish looked extremely stressed and colourless at the lfs when I purchased them.. I put them in my tank and they both quickly acclimated and are already showing breeding type behaviour. My male has colored up nicely, but my female lacks colour and the bars that most female festaes get. Will these possibly develop as she grows or do I likely have a boring looking female? Well you can see a form of a bar at the top of the fish but I don't know if they will show
 
festae are highly variable in different habitats, stress levels, and what species they are housed with. The pics below are all of the same individual female.
