hello, i have a 55 gallon tank that I want to put these fish in, will they be compatible?

Cichlids:
1 blood parrot hybrid
1 male firemouth
1 male black convict

Bottom Feeders:
1 senegal bichir
1 striped peacock eel
1 synodontis eupterus (feather fin catfish)
1 striped raphael catfish

this is my FINAL tank plan for the 55 gallon, i will no longer be asking what fish are compatible in my 55 gallon tank if these are compatible, and i have 2 aquatech 30-60 filters and a marineland penguin 550 undergravel filter, thanks! and what minimum size should the raphael catfish and the featherfin catfish be when i get them? (in inches)

It will work..........But being a member on MONSTERFISHKEEPERS, you will have to eventually be able to take pictures and show proof of a Convict Cichlid breeding program...Why not start a pair or two in this 55g........A breeding pair of Convict Cichlids will give endless supply of feeders...Also, I have traded many times with my local fish stores.....I have received food, new fish, and sometimes credit for equipment by trading a load of juvenile convict cichlids................

Yeah I would skip the underground filter. They collect this unbelievable muck underneath them that I have to believe affects water quality. But more importantly if you ever want them to come out because, for example you want to switch to sand, it is a gross disgusting and very long process to clean up. Stick with HOB or canister, IMO.

Good luck with the tank.

I agree about the UGFilter. The Cichlids will dig, and the Eel will bury itself. Good luck with the tank!

Sounds like it is worth a shot in trying it for sure if that's what you want to go with. Go for it! And post pics when/if you can.
