I went to 3 diff lfs to buy a heater cover and they all said they dont carry any.

So... I was thinking of putting a sponge around the heater or a bigger pvc pipe around it. Will it work??

I need a cover for my Ray and another fish that I have keeps crashing into my driftwood that I have covering the heater. So I need to get more room in the tank. Got to get the driftwood out and replace it with something else to cover the heater.

...if you need to know... they are in a temp 50gl while my house is almost done with the remodeling. Then I have to cycle my water for my 300 all over again. So I would say the fish will be in the 50gl for 2 months (TOPS!!!)

i made my own with eggcrate and zip ties

Just get a PVC pipe cut to size. I used 1 1/2" i.d. PVC for my heaters. Make sure you drill several holes in it for water exchange.

Thought of that but I seen sharper edges on the crates. Thanks

...or for less than the price of shipping, make your own...

i just ended up buying the unbreakable heaters

Rays are very sensitive and can burn themselves on heaters. There are members here that have worked their way around having heater guards by placing their heaters in strategic locations in their tanks.
