I have a 29 gallon with a breeding pair of convicts. I have java moss and java ferns in there and they seem to be doing alright in the sand substrate without o2 or ferts. My ferns started growing plantlets so i picked some off and put them in a clay pot with some sand but a few minutes later the convicts dug them up. So I decided to put one of those breeder tanks in my tank and put the plantlets in there along with some sand and a few convict fry. The breeder tank is at water level so they'll be getting more light but will they still grow? Thanks in advance

yea you should tie them off to something, if u plant them say in sand they will rot if the rhimizone is burried...or just plant the little roots but i imagine that would be a pain with those tiny runners getting them to stay in sand

Mine won't anchor to anything, but it does fine as a floating green ball of death. My Oscar sleeps in it. I'll bet your fish would make good use of it as a floater.
