I have a 5-6 in ornate in a 125 with a jardini and he hides up by the heater all the time like he is scared. He hasnt ate for over a week. I was wondering if I put him in my 30g with a 3 in dat would that be a bad idea?
Yeah they are. You can train them to eat during the day though. But if it's not eating try feeding cut up shrimp or sinking pellet/sticks with the lights off. My bichirs love kens sticks at kenfish.com, but they can be a little messy.
thanks, i got a bunch of super soft moist with krill from kens, I might try that tonight. I have been feeding crickets and some feeders,,,the jardini acts like a pig and the ornate just sits there. I need to get them all on pellets eventually
I suggest keeping the dat and the ornate separated. I don't know if the ornate could swallow the dat, but I do think it would try. Especially if you have a wild caught ornate.
