I'm pretty new to these types of fish I've always wanted them when I seen the big cool ones in the stores and I just picked up a 10" delhezi a 10 " ornate and 2 12" endlicheri real cheap at auction 35 for the ornate 25 each forthe rest but when the lights are on they never come out of hiding in my drift wood um wwondering if this may change wen there more settled in they've been in there for a week I've dimmed the lighting witch didn't help I was also wondering if switching to blue lights would help and the tank is 75 gallons witch I know is way to small but I'm planning on upgrading asap so could it be that there just so miserable in my small tank I'd appreciate all the brochure advice I can get

You don't have change light to blue lamps, just shade a area for them or give more time for them to settle in:). Some people use the blue lights for night time viewing.

Yeah I would think they might be a little cramped. I would suggest taking all decor out of the tank, because it would prevent and injuries if they all get startled. They should settle in in a couple days to weeks. I would definitely like you said find an upgrade asap. Even when they are settled in they won't be active and come to the front of the tank to see you or others all the time they are very lazy fish for the most part other than some species. So even if they aren't moving around a lot don't think automatically that they aren't settled in they are just generally lazy fish. Another way to tell if they are settled in is if they are eating well. They should be pretty good eaters once they are settled in.

Like others have said, if you wanna see them, I would remove the hides. Even after settled, they'll just hide all the time. That's how it was with mine. Sometimes it looks pretty cool though. Here's how I caught all mine 1 day. ImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1400550532.462460.jpg

Some will venture out into the light, others wont. It doesnt matter how long they have been in the tank. There are some that I only see once a week.

I recommend scaping the tank so that there are places to hide in, only a place to sit by.

Yeah mine do seem to like to lay around on each other and there eating well I've been giving them frozen silver sides plus they ate some of my loaches and my pumkinseeds tail lol

Mine never really his much i mean they did but they cruise around the bottom alot more than they hide... My delhezi will chill at the top or mid area of the tank posted up on a rock or a plant it's funny lookin sonetimes

I would keep little decor in the tank or use driftwoods with a lot of holes so the poly´s are constantly visible. Now that I removed most of the decor in my tank I see them constantly.
