I currently have 1 male and 3 females in a 29 gallon tank. I have 3 flower pots ones small though. Theres two plants and a large rock. The tank is currently 76 degrees with a pH of 8.4. I hear warmer water will greatly increase the chance of spawning so I'm currently in the process of purchasing better working heater to raise the water to around 80-82.

What do you think? :)

Hi Alex,

It sounds like you are on the right track. I keep my peacock tank at about 80 degrees. I started with 3 females and one male Ngara flametail. They have spawned numerous times. Make sure that you check to see if the females are holding. I take the holding female out and put her in her own tank. I have had the best luck stripping the female. I usually get between 6 - 8 fry.

How old are the fish that you have?

Good luck!
