Ok here a dumb question I had my RTF
thats around 3inches in with my wife's
Peacocks and Hap's and jewels cichlids
And of course he started to be a bully so the only other tank I have available at the moment is a 20 gallon long.
We are buying a 65 gallon bowfront tank for my wife's salvini an opening up the 75 gallon for my RTF. But it might be a 3 weeks tops.. At 3 inches will he be fine for a few weeks.. I feel really bad for him.. The last two days he's done nothing but hide in his flower pot.
And he is too small to go into my two big tanks. I am not happy with the situation but can somebody at least confirm he'll be okay for a few weeks..
Thanks

You already seem to know that it's not ideal but at that size he'll be fine for a few weeks

The festae will be fine for a few weeks. Just make sure you keep up on your weekly water change schedule and you will be fine. Dont over feed so there is excess food in the tank. If there is food remaining remove it as it will only degrade the water quality of the tank.

So not that it matters. But is it an RTM or a Festae? Because I've never seen it called an RTF lol. You have your answer already, its not ideal but it will work for a couple weeks. Hell they stay in the fish stores like that. But that's not a great situation for him/her. Just like the others said.

You may need a bigger tank than a 75 for your festae when he's fully grown.Adult males can reach 16 inches and are deep bodied and built like battle ships.

He wrote RTF to mean Red Terror Festae

ahhhhh, I guess the mix of Latin and common name threw me off. Then it got abbreviated, I couldn't decide which one he meant. Thanks for clarification. Either way same results. It was more for my personal curiosity. I've actually seen RTM's sold as "Red Terrors"
