Will my rtm tail grow back

So I had 2 growout rtm in a 20gal.
One grew super fast while the other one hide all the time. Came home to my little one missing his/her tail. Will it grow back?

It may, it may not. Depends on how damaged the caudal peduncle is.

I propose for a quarantine tank first. And there's a 60 not / 40 would, chance for it to grow back, hoping for the best of the fish.

Oh she/he is divided up already. Doubting the tail will grow back.
