Will my silver grow his tail back?

I think a CK or silver dollar took a chunk of his tail. He might have two many tankmates.

Hey bro. I don't think it will grow back. It looked like it was chewed back to the caudal peducule. Usually it will not regenerate if damaged this far back.

My aro looked the same at one time. He jumped out and ripped his fin out. It was al the way down to the flesh, no lower section of tail at all. In a few weeks you should see if it will or not.

yea, I had one that got bit off almost that much (my black!) it grew back just fine. Like previously stated, you'll know within a couple of weeks if it's going to.

Thanks everyone, I think I see 2 nubs starting where the fin rays will be. He is strong and is a competitive eater so I think that when he gets a little bigger that no fish will bother him.

It looks like enough is left and something will regrow, dont worry I don't think you'll have a half a**ed Aro. (Just teasing, not to make light of a serious issue) If there is regrowth, it would be interesting to see pics in 2-3 week intervals as it heals......
