Ok, so I just walked into my roommates room to feed his fish (I am watching them over the summer and I do this 2-3 times a day) and in his 4.5" oscars mouth is something black. I look closely, and its a freaking 2" pleco. Only the tip of the tail is sticking out. Is there anything I can do? Will he be ok? HELP me please!!!!

Well, there's only 2 things you can do.

1.) Leave it and hope he works it down ok,

2.) Net him, hold him gently in a WET towel, and work it out of his mouth yourself. (you may need Pliers) You have to be very careful.

You should try to get a hold of your friend to ask him what he would have you do. That way its not all on your head.

I depends on how the pleco is positioned, I have had a fish eat a catfish before and survive with no problems. It is a pity the oscar is so small or you could use diagonal end nippers to clip the pleco's pectoral and dorsal spines off at the base.

Hopefully the oscar got the pleco in and his fins are down and he will finish eating him naturally.

Id leave it and hope for the best,he got it headfirst so theres a good chance hell be able to swallow it

my oscar ate a pleco while he was pretty small and he died instantly...

Just kidding, he was fine:thumbsup: (it did take him a while to get it down though)
