Will peacock cichlids and Africans crossbreed

can they? what age do they need to be (if any) and how can you tell genders of each species? can you please help me anyone?
 
African peacocks, yes. Peacock Bass, no. Which do you mean?
 
i think afrian peacock because they are very similar in size, unless the peacock bass is too then i dont know but im pretty sure its african.
 
Peacock bass are very different (but still cichlids). They are from SA. Do a quick Google search for "peacock cichlid cross". Also, try the african cichlid area here.
 
it is an orange blotch peacock cichlid, it is striped like a zebra but has a solid brown head and orange splotches on its head and slightly farther back but not too far behind the side fins.
 
what species of mbuna are you trying to cross with peacock? OB peacocks have mbuna in their lineage already
 
well i dont know what mbuna means. But it is blue and black stripped african. I bought it in the Asst. cichlids section.
