my first attempt of breeding jack dempseys the fry all got eaten. i thought by the parents. i just had the pair and a small common pleco in the tank. so i started a 20 gallon for the next batch of fry and put the pleco in to help cycle and keep cycled. so the second time around i took half the fry out and put them in the 20. now the tank with the parents seem fine.... but the 20 seems to be dwindling.... the only thing i can think of is the pleco. will they eat fry? i know they will eat the eggs but ive never heard of them eating fry... where are my fry going?

They are going into the pleco's stomach. They have more than an appetite for caviar. :D

shew that wasnt easy! getting plecos out is hard enough but in a tank full of babies?! well now i have an overstocked 60 gallon. one male jd 7", one male jd 5", one pleco 9" one pleco 3" , 2 pictus cats 3", 2 female convicts 2". jeeezzz can anyone say water change? good news is i will be getting rid of the two male jd's in about a month or so. the larger pleco and two pictus cats will be going into a friends pond (yes its heated) how much and how often wc do i need to do untill then? right now i do about 50% every weekend. and i hate it! still using the bucket method and its killing my back!

which tank/fish lol. have 3 going right now. will post the overstocked later when my son gets off my computer. hes a w.o.w. fanatic! im on his school laptop right now and it wont let me do anything!

the plecos are incubating them in their tummy and when the plecos are done the frys are gonna be full grown poops.
