So can I add Safe/Prime to neutralize the ammonia excreted by the fish in a medicated tank rather than do a large water change everyday to remove the ammonia? I want to know if it is possible so that I don't have to do a 75% water change everyday and then re-dose the tank with the medication. I'm treating the QT with Furan-2 if that makes a difference.

How long can I add Prime/Safe before a water change is inevitable, when the ammonia reaches 2.0ppm?

IDK as a precaution I wate a half hour after adding before adding meds. This isn't based on anything it just makes me feel better. Maybe someone will come by that knows for sure.

The answer that Seachem gave me is that there are no issues with using Safe/Prime with erythromycin, kanamycin, tetracycline, or nitrofurazone. The only medications that they do not recommend using with Safe/Prime are copper based medications. It will turn copper into a more toxic form.
