I ran Rid Fungus for 7 days at the suggested amount and it cleared up my problem. But I am curious if this stuff is bad for the beneficial bacteria in my tank? Anyone ?

well the BB is bacteria not fungi so i wouldnt think it would kill it but with some aquarium products you never know...

Thanks man. It doesn't say anything about beneficial bacteria on the bottle ... Anyone used it or have a definite answer ?

you used it for a week and nothing bad happened, sooooo whats the issue?

no it wont kill it if its an anti fungul med. it would say on the bottle or leaflet if it has anti-bacterial properties and may damage BB. like FSM said you already used it for a week without issue, a bit late to be worrying about it now :p .

I am OCD I stopped using it yesterday. Was wondering if I should be expecting an ammonia spike.

What are the active ingredients of the Rid Fungus?

its made by kordon it says " Contents:multiple natural herbals containing naphthoquinone 7% . Active ingredients.. that help at all ?

It doesn't look like this one will harm the bacteria. You could always test the water just to be sure and do water changes wherever necessary. There are some active ingredients I know that are used in antibiotics that will definitely destroy your beneficial bacteria but not this one.

Nice thanks. Yeah I don't think its an anti biotic
