Hey guys, thinking of throwing in some baby rotkeils in to grow out in my tetra tank. Its 30G with 8 diamond tetras 6 red eye tetras and 2 congos. Do you think the juvie rotkeils will attack my tetras? Also I'd be getting three so what's a good ratio 1 male 2 females?

In my experience, Severums aren't as aggressive as other fish their size. But still. Be cautious as every fish has a different personality.

i think it should be fine, all three of those tetras are relatively large and fast enough to avoid the sevs if they turn nasty

Adult sev's have been known to eat adult red eye tetras both here and on other forums. The congos and diamonds should both be large enough as adults not to be bothered. Of course, juvy sev's probably wouldn't do much harm to large red eyes either, but that will change as the sevs reach full size.

yeah i think as juvies you dont have anything to worry about, they should definitely be fine growing out in there

Thanks guys. It's not permanent just until they're large enough to go into the bigger tanks. So you guys think I should get 1 male 2 female, 2 male 1 female, or 3 males?

I have a 4" and 3" Severum in with 5 emperor tetras and some red eyes. They are very good with smaller fish. Never bother them. They are not really the preditor type so its not a problem. Now my Blue acara she is a killer. Even as adults severums can be kept with other larger tetras.
