will silverdollars eat java fern?

i was thinking of getting some java fern but will my silver dollars eat it

Java fern is the best option if you want to keep plants with your Silver Dollars. But this doesn't mean it won't get eaten. Only way to find out is just try! Mine silver dollars would nip little peaces from my java fern but not totally eat it.

Mine would bite at it and rip it off driftwood. But you could get lucky it's cheap enough try it.

If anything, they'll just nip at it. You can try anubias if you want a sturdier leafed plant for them, though. You can do it the same way and tie it to driftwood or rocks, it doesn't like to be buried. Either one should work.

I wouldn't recommend anubias mine mine eat the leafs.

I have 2 thinbars and 5 thickbars and non of them eat or play with the java fern.

My red hooks did the same thing to the java ferns, they slowly nibble at the end of the leaves until it was ugly. They really ate my crypt plant big time taking chunk in every bite. They try my anubias and didn't didn't really like it and left it be.
