Will someone kindly explain WHY

There are so many huge tanks being sold or practically given away in Shake n' Bake USA (aka California)???? I don't get it. Cheap and available acrylic/glass tanks over 300 gallons everywhere. It's the craziest thing I've ever seen. And of course nobody ships, everything is pick up only. So...what's the point?? If you live there and everyone is selling, who you gonna sell it to without shipping.

Water shortages? People want money to move? WHUT ?‍

Seems it's always been that way. Whatever niche nerdy thing I'm into - California has enough fellow nerds packed close enough together to make the nerdery cheap and everything else unafordable. Got a half assed fantasy of a box truck road trip for fun and profit.
