I’m mainly worried about the intake part, I don’t know if it would work but I assume it should if I can match the intake amount to the output of the water pump. Any suggestions? (Sorry for bad handwriting lol)View attachment 1530371

The intake will just be a gravity suction with no overflow box or drilling just to clarify

I’ve seen somewhere that a guy created what you’re looking for.
But from your drawing, the drain would be a siphon with its own rate.
If possible I would drill for overflow box or bulkhead drain
And I would use at least 2: 1.5” drains

I’m not able to drill and an overflow box is out of budget, do you think a second of the same pump as the intake would work?

As it is, siphoning from the top, anything may break that siphon, air bubbles or whatever. And when that happens, the return pump will continue and you will flood out your main tank.

I'd give drilling the tank a shot. It looks so much harder than it actually is. You will not regret doing it

Unless it's tempered glass. It that case do not drill.

Yeah I just ended up going with a canister filter, thanks though
