Will the fins grow back?

Hi, I am new to the forums. I just recently bought a senegal bichir, I felt so bad for him in the tank that he was in at the LFS. He was with a bunch of tiger barbs and they just kept nipping at his fins. I was wondering if his fins will ever grow back to normal? Is there anything I can do to aid this process?

Clean, cycled water and perhaps a little pimafix if fungus breaks out. Typically, though, clean water is all that is needed. That means no ammonia or nitrites and low or no nitrates if possible.

I have rescued fish and nipped fins grow back. All you need is clean water no meds. Good job with the rescue.

Good water quality I had a Delhezi with two of its dorsal spines bitten off from the oscar tankmates at the LFS both grew back (crooked) but they grew back

Treat it with Melafix and in no time at all.....BAM!!! Fins are back!!!
Jus watch for fin rot.
