Will the L155 & L234 terrorize my 580G pleco community tank?

I need to move or get rid of my 15" L155 and 13" L234 to make room for a L25 breeding project. The 11" Albino Adonis should be fine in my 580G pleco community tank because I already have one in there. It is very hard to get plecos back out of the drift wood tank so I don't want to put them in if I'll just have to pull them out soon. I've had these for years and like them, but I'm switching most of my tanks over to pleco breeding groups. These have been in a 6' x 3' x 2' high 270G with large Royals etc. with not problems, but not with any plecos under 10".

Does anyone have experience with large L155 & L234 with smaller plecos? Or just opinions. Let me know.

There are pictures of my 580G in this forum.

They are both terrible fish, so ship them to me at once! The biggest adonis I ever had was around 12", but he was fine with smaller plecos. However I see your point about putting them in the tank then having to pull them right back out. Either way you have the most amazing collection I've ever seen, wish I could be of more help

IMO, i don't think there will be a problem as long as the tank is spacious enough for everybody and that there is enough food for everybody. I have 10" plecos in with small 3-4" plecos with no problems...but now you have me questioning myself because you would be the person I would go to for pleco advice...lol.

Well I've been cautious since I lost a 5" L14 to a 6" L114 quite a few years ago before I knew they were a particularly bad combination. I have 7 various L155 now in several tanks so it's more of a size thing with him, but this is the only L234 I've ever had and it has only been in with >10" plecos. I'm leaning on trying them since there are many places for small plecos to hid in the driftwood and I could add a few caves the big boys couldn't get into.

L14's and L114's are bad combinations really? I have a 6-7" L114 with a 8" L14 with no problem. Maybe because the L14 is bigger. I think you are right in the case of having lots of hiding places in driftwood for the little guys where big guys cant get into. If it were me I would give it a try. :) Let us know how it goes and if it doesn't work out I'm more then happy to take them off your hands. ;)
