I bought a tank and it came with these stanpipes for the overflow boxes. Im debating to leave it alone or convert them to durso standpipes. anyone ever use 1 like this before? How is the noise level?

If you have 2 holes in each overflow and don't mind putting the return through another hole, I suggest a Herbie. It's MUCH more quiet.
I'd do a Herbie as well. Not sure what function the fitting at the top of the pipe serves, but I run straight pipes on mine, herbie style with no fittings on top. Dead silent and nothing to obstruct flow. Looks like the pipe you have would have a greater chance of clogging to me....
Thank you guys. Im not going to setup a herbie each over flow is already drill for the return and output. Im just going to convert these standpipe into durso standpipes.
