Has anyone had any success keeping P.Bass with any type of Geophagus or Gymnophagus of similar size....

I am looking for at least 3 Geophagus or Gymnophagus to be housed with my (2) 6" P.Bass but wanted to find full grown ones that cant be swallowed atleast 4.5-5" in length

Can this be done or will this be ill-advised?

I've seen it done but have no experience myself. I just hope you know how big even the smaller species of cichla grow though... A 6-8" fish isn't always a good idea with 1.5-3 feet fish.

Im aware of the potential growth of the Cichla but i was just trying to get the others large enough because the Geos have a much slower growth rate than the Cichla.

I was also planning on a larger tank in the future but im not sure for now.

I would like to go to 400+ gal for the cichla and larger fish and keep other S.A. Cichlids in the tank i have now.... but now its just wishful thinking

Yeah i figured i would try to get them as large as possible but the only ones available at the LFS are less than 2.5" and am trying to find them large enough so they arn't just expensive feeders

With a big enough tank that should be a nice display since the geos tend to stay on the bottom as they forage for food which is usually out of the bass's way.
