I currently have a 10 and 20 gallon set up in a corner of my room. This corner sits directly above the banister on the first floor. There are stairs directly behind the tanks and the banister is right under them with a beam on the right side of the floor. A closet door sits on the left of the setups.

Would it be possible to upgrade the 10 with a 29 setup? That would make a 20 and a 29 set up in that area. I have no where else to set up a tank in the house at the moment, but can't afford to have the whole floor cave in, or hire someone to check it out for me.

I am not sure if a 20 setup and a 29 would be good, or if I should stick with 2 20 setups.

Your floor will be fine! LOL Your tanks arnt very large compared the ones the other people on this site have. Depending on what fish you want and all, go as big as possible. More options.

Great! Will run out tomorrow and grab the 29 instead of the 20. You are right...more options and I looooooove fishies. :mwave: :tropicalf

That will give me a 29, 20, 10 and a 2...now to figure out a place for a 10 to let babies grow out in...hmmmm

If your floor wont hold a 29gal tank - then you should find a new house :grinno:

Serioulsy, it's the weight of a largish person. When tanks get up over 100 gal then you need to worry whats underneath ;)

Cheers

Think of it this way.....

49 gal x 8lbs per 1 gal.= approx. 392 lbs. Can two average size men stand where the tank is and the floor be OK?!;)
