World English Dictionary
wuss , woose or wussy (wʊs, ˈwʊsɪ)

— n , pl wusses , wussies
slang chiefly ( US ) a feeble or effeminate person

Now that I know what your talking about, I have one front and it is also very timid. I was able to make him more personable by taking OUT decor, so he cannot hide and is forced to interact with me and other fish.

Good luck and keep us posted.

How long have you had these fronts it takes time for them to get to know you they are however not mean fish by nature except to one another. Ours took awhile to warm up to people but before we moved him he was at the top of the tank waiting for food right beside our oscars.

I have them since july and they were 2 inch back then now they are touching 4 inch. So its quite a long time still whenever they see me they triy to hide , also they are very very picky eaters.
I dont know but sometimes they gulp food and throw out then gulp then throw.
Then later eats it . It makes me sick when see this .
What is this anyone know.s

lol its called chewing!

the family cichlidae, which includes cichlids go figure, is defined as fish with a tooth bearing, fused pharyngeal jaw. This fused jaw bone extends almost back into their throat, and can be used as a chewing mechanism.

so what you are seeing is essentially the fish chewing his dinner, then spitting it up only to try and eat it again. I see my african cichlids do it all the time. It shouldn't make you sick, its actually kind of cool once you know the truth behind it.

Try watching next time, I guarantee you see your fish's throat moving as he chews up his food.

my africans are also very timid!

they will all flip out if anyone approaches the tank suddenly and they'll hide behind their rocks.

What i found has been helping, is to cut back on feeding to only once a day. Now, they are hungrier when i approach, and they're starting to relate me to the food which used to just sink to the bottom as they hid.

since your guys are babies, maybe this isn't the best way to start, but its working for me.

Hi, something clicked :)
now i feed them once a day and they are hungry as ever. Eat all in just 1 go.
also no spitting . only eating :).
