Will they ever get along?

I have 2 flowerhorns that i have in a 60gal divided and I was wondering if they'll ever be able to live undivided. Theyre both around 6 months old, female is a kamfa fader very aggressive and the male is a red dragon fader, also very aggressive.
I was lead to believe that fish will get along based on personality more than anything else, but so far it's been 2.5 months since they've lived in the same tank and everytime i take the divider out, they liplock for up to 3 hours, then i break it up. Even when i turn off the lights, all i hear when trying to sleep is the thumping of my male hitting the divider haha. Any tips on allowing them to live together would be appreciated

I feel your pain....I have the same problem with a male midas and female Midevil. There issue is they can't get into sync (one will be ready but not the other and vice versa). Time and tank space is all I can think of to help. But sometimes, they just don't get along.

That's a good point. My female is more aggressive than my male but she never attacks the glass divider. She spawns and i think she's ready but he isnt. Maybe my male's too young
