Hi MFK!

So i'm ready to fill my 70 gallon tank and i was wondering if i will still need to let my tank cycle if I.......

I'm planning on taking 10-20 gallons out of my 30 gallon and start to fill my 70 also have two filter with one penguin biowheel and an sponge for an aqua clear so they both havent been used in a while but planning on soaking them in my 30 gallon for a while. Should I add some nutrafin cycle also? I'm am also putting in some decor from already cycled tanks too! So will this be enough beneficial bacteria to make a colony right away or should i still have to go through the whole nitrogen cycle?

Just to sum it up

Soaked sponge and biowheel in already cycled tank
Decor from cycled tanks
~10-20gallons of cycled aquarium water to start it off
and possibly nutrafin cycle

Thanks MFK

Wont get much bacteria from water take some substrate from established tank and hook your filters up to your 30 and run them and take some media out of the filters that are on your 30 and put it in the filters going in the 70.

I had two 55g cycled and bought a new 125g. I added rocks and decor along with filter media and water. My tank was cycled right away. The water isn't that helpful in my experience its the filter media and decor. Most the bb is on the filters and decor.

O and i would not add bb in a bottle. I think it is a waste of money. Find a friend that has used filter media you can have. way better and free.
