Will this be possible? 10 gallon sump for a 20 gallon long.

Im planning on building my very first sump. Since my aunty is giving me some 10 gallon tanks I want to try to make a sump for my 20 gallon long. Do you guys think it will be possible? Will I have to drill my 20 gallon long?

FYI: I am a sump noob.

Sounds perfect. I'd find a real overflow instead of drilling. They're awesome.

The over flow takes in the water and it goes into a sump right?

Yes, I haven't used this DIY overflow but upon reading it is supposed to start again after a power cut http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=219465
