so i got a 36x18x32" tall tank that came with a stand but no canopy, and i got and old 36x18 wood canopy...is it ok to use that canopy on the tank? i know it fit perfectly on top but im worried that since my tank has a weird dimension that the canopy would be too heavy...plus i would still add substrate, driftwood, rocks, water, etc

it shouldnt be a problem Imo if fits pefectly, is the tank 18inches high, or wide?

is it made of cement or I-beams or somthing?

if not you should be fine.. just do your best not to smack the canopy onto the top edge of the tank (as with all canopys and all tanks)

It will probably be ok... but used equipment is just that... used... I would check the integrety of the stand.... If the canopy fits and you like it and if the tank is in good shape it will more than likey be ok....

If you are uncomfortable with it then just go with a glass top and light or a full hood for now.... you can always put it on in the future...

Just a thought...

Good Luck!!!
