Will this blue phantom keep its pattern?

I wanted to stick to Panaque when I started collecting plecos but I found a cool looking blue phantom so I picked it up.

Do you think it will keep this pattern or grow out of it? The other one I got has regular spots

I'm not sure what species that is, but I can tell you it isn't a blue phantom.

What makes you believe it's not?

It has almost nothing in common with the blue phantom. Even the head shape looks different. Given the number of undescribed Loricariids out there, it seems like a massive stretch to say that this is just an extreme pattern mutation within the same species, unless you've done a DNA test or something.

I'll work on getting some better shots. Hopefully that will help compare the two.

Update, it eventually changed pattern and looked like a regular blue phantom when i sold it

Patterns on baby plecos are never written in stone. Too often baby plecos I've gotten have changed when they got bigger.
