So i just bought a new 60g tank with a stand. The tank is glass so the stand uses only the edges to support the tank. Would if be safe to put a 20-30ish pound rock on the middle of the tank if there is no support under the middle?

No it will hold. My 75 has 100 lbs of sand it alone that's not including the rocks and water weight so the tank is built to hold a substantial amount of weight

Should be. I have about a 50 pound peice of holey rock in my 75 but I'm not sue if my bottom is tempered glass or not. Also you can put egg crate under substrate to help with support.

As others have mentioned, no. As long as your not dropping it or anything like that. Set it in nice and easy and it will be fine.

Someone posted a video on here awhile back where he attempted to find the breaking point of a 10g. He stacked rocks until it nearly reached the ceiling. It did not break so he removed some and stood on the stack. Ended up being around 350 or 400 lbs I can't remember the exact amount and it still did not break. Tempered glass is an amazing thing.
