I want to purchase a tank but there is a small chip on the corner of the glass.
It has made me very hesitant and I would just like some opinions, experiences with something similar,
and knowledge of this situation. Thanks everyone!

Here's a picture:

I've seen worse on tanks that have held, and that is fairly high up but it would still make me very nervous. What size tank is that? Unless it's such an incredible deal or the size tank that you've been waiting on for a long time I would probably pass on it.

Not to bad at all, I have similar chips out of my 50 gallon for my turtle, tank is filled to the max, never a problem.

i have a slight chip on my 125.. By looking at it and feeling it i could tell it no more than cosmetic. Do you see any lines forming? can you feel how deep the chip is? My tank as well is full to the top. i added silicon but it didn't even need it. if i have a chance, i'll post a pic of mine.

Hello; I too have a couple of tanks with small chips that have not failed so far. That said I will not purchase a tank with a chip or it will have to be very, very cheap.
I found some clear plastic corner protectors that I have siliconed onto the outside corners of my all glass tanks. This should help prevent such chips. The plastic corners are for protecting the outside corners of wallpaper.

This chip is on my 150 gal, its been up and running since 1987.

That does not look bad at all, I say don't worry about it.

I personally wouldn't worry about it.

A chip is always a potential failure point but that high up it isnt stressed like it would be lower down.
Probably isnt and issue.
Still....
I wouldnt be "comfortable" with that or any chip....once bitten twice shy so to speak. =)
