Im trying to diy a filter for a small pool/pond. I tried it before with a 5 gallon bucket but that didnt work cause the bucket filled to a sertent point it would tip over . So I decided to make one that will work better. It has five nickle sized holes at one end were the sponges are and right now the media in that filter sack of biomax and ammo chips. I am gunna fill up the rest of the bucket with both of those once I got money to buy some more. My question is will it filter properly the way I set it up?

I don't know...
what's the gph on the pump? it doesn't look like the sponges are very well supported, I can see them shifting fairly easily. like from the suction when the sponge gets dirty. and if the sponge/holes block up, is the tub sturdy enough not to collapse?

Its rated at like 480 gph . The pond will be 150-200 gallons full. The sponges are pretty loose now but imma take out the smaller sponges and put afew of the bigger ones. Once I fill the bucket with ammo chips and biomax the sponges wont be able to move cause they will be weighted down.and yeah its strudy alot better then the 5 gallon bucket. I tested it for flow last night without media and it worked good. I just to make a small stand to raise the bucket afew inches off the ground so the rim stays above water level then it wont flow right if it takin in water from the holes and overflowing in the top.

sounds like it should work then, but it's not quite how I'd do it.
I wouldn't want the sponge directly against the input side tub wall, a larger sponge away from that wall will give you more area for flow which means it's less likely to clog and less effort from the pump. you'll need the sponge to go from side wall to side wall, and some support to keep it from buckling unless you use something like poret, but I think you'd be happier with the end result.

Im havin a challenge with the flow the pump is way too strong it empties the bucket very fast and doesnt allow enough water in to cycle properly

Well man I got it working properly. I toke your advice and moved the sponges back and put them side by side to make a wall. Tomorrow after I go cash my check imma stop by petsmart and buy more biomax and ammo chips to fill the bucket the rest of the way. Thanks for the help.
