Will this heal?

I picked up a "wild" Oscar a few days ago. And he has sense gotten into a little tussle with my male jack dempsey. the little Oscar is brave. However he has gotten beaten up and I'm just curious if his fins will heal, and if there's anything. Can do besides isolate him and keep his water clean( as I have already moved him, and am doing daily water changes)

It's really hard to tell how much damage is done in that pic, but if its just his fins clean water will do wonders for him.

It's the top fin. Seems to be just split. And his tail which the dempsey took 1/3 off

my sev had its tail half ripped, I moved it, and it wasn't getting bullied and so it healed

5-6 inches. I'm assuming that they got in a tussle because I made the mistake of assuming the jd was peaceful..

Glad to hear that your sev healed. Once my Oscar starts to show improvement I'm going to put him back in the jds tank. Only this time with a divider until he's big enough to protect himself

jd's are funny,mine tolerated other tank mates and then I moved him and he became a right grump
now I can't put any other fish with him except his missus the gjd,as he'd fight them
was jd with any tank mates before?
I personally find if you put them with others from baby they seem to tolerate
adding In tank mates after its lived alone, can be hit or miss
but saying that, some jd are fine and one day just turn into jack the ripper lol
