So after breaking my brace I've applied first gorilla glue, sanded it down, now I've applied JB weld (common two part household waterproof adhesive) and let it cure for 48hours. I'm then going to sand it down a little and then glue and screw in the plexy glass like I originally intended. Do you all think the tab that I fixed will hold and be a suitable mounting point for my plexy brace? The tank is a 46gallon bow front saltwater reef tank.

Hard to say. I think somebody said to not use gorrilla glue because it breaks down in water? I know jb weld is stout strong stuff. If you have a good surface to let is bond to it can hold a couple thousands pounds and you can thread it to take a screw/bolt etc. With the plexi added I think you would be ok. Fill it in in the tub if it will fit....

Yeah, I wish I used JB weld on the crack where I put the gorilla glue, but it was all I had at the time. I put a good layer of JB weld not only on the crack, but along the edge to kind of form the plastic weld into the rim. Since the JB weld is over the gorilla glue it should be water proof now. I would rather not find out the hard way :(.
