Hello everyone, I have a 75 gallon open for now and will be buying a 125 gallon next summer. Would it work with the following fish?: (1) 3" Tiger Oscar, (1) 4-5" Geophagus Altifrons, (1) 2" Blood Parrot, (1) 2-3" Crenicichla Johanna "Red Pike," and either a 3" Shovelnose Cat or a 3" Rita Rita Cat. In other words, what problems do you think I might run into, if any, with these species in a 75 for about the next 8-10 months? Thanks!

the catfish get too big and the cichlids are too aggressive. Geophagus are fairly peaceful, crenicichla are not

The oscar alone will own the tank, if not by size and temperment, he will own it by ammonia level........Shovelnose cat will need to go, you do not want to get connected to it without the right size tank.....The Geo, Blodd parrot, Pike can definately stay in the 75g..........

I would say you would be overstocked big time. I would only keep the oscar, blood parrot or Geo. Two fish, Oscars get massive and make a huge mess plus they grow really fast.

thanks for the input everyone. would any of you happen to know what would work well with the johanna in the 75? i would love to have a pike yet i would like to stay away from a 1 species tank. i am new to crenicichla species so any background would be very helpful. another reason i am asking is because i wasn't sure if johanna vary from other pikes in their temperament and allowance for other tank mates..
