Will this stand idea work?

The front vertical support bars are not under the front horizontal bar. I want to put sliding doors in and the support bars would be in the way. I want to push it back at least 6-8". Also are cross bar support really needed? This is for a 270g acrylic tank.

I would make sure you are braced all around the edge of the tank. You could extend the front to add your doors.
