Ok, so I was getting kinda tired of my agressive tank...killing everything lol... so this next one I want to keep things a bit more low key.

The tank is a 100g tall with overflow in the tank. Has live sand, rock, and a skimmer. The tank is currently running with some "test" fish in it that I will be getting rid of prior to introducing some new fish.

Here's what I would like:

3-4 FP clowns (possibly one of a different variety, kinda like the naked ones).
3 Heniochus Butterfly
1 blue hippo tang

Here's what im still throwing around as potential others to add:
-An Angel of some sort
-Sailfin Tang
-Yellow Tang
-Purple Tang (if I could find a reasonably priced one, probably dreamin)
-Foxface

I don't intend on having all of them of course, but theoretically, could they all be together with no problems?

I would also like to have an anemonie for the clowns to go in, any tips on easy to care for ones?

Thanks!

I don't see any problem's to be honest with you just watch your butterfly and angel sometimes rare occasion's they can be aggressive towards each other only if they resemble each other so take that into consideration when picking your angel.

Makes sense, my Mono was the same way with my archers.

Any recomendations on angels though? I would prefer one that doesn't get huge as my tank is a tall so it is only 4 ft long, not 6. Flame angels are neat looking, any experience?

I really like Flame angel's they add a lot of beauty to the tank and swim out in the open easy to feed and manage not too aggressive but once in a while may nip at another fish. Singapore Angelfish are really beautiful get about 7 inches big they have a good personality a bit picky with food sometimes. one of my favorite dwarf angel's that get 4 inches big and are extremely beautiful is the Potter's Angelfish.

i can relate. im gettin tired of my aggressive tank. the triggers bother everything. ill be watchin this thread for ideas as well. I also am attracted to flame angels as well.

ok possible problems with your lists

on the clowns when they reach sexual maturity you will be down to 2 clowns instead of the 3-4 (most likley)

100g is not big enough for an adult hippo tang or an adult sailfin tang

in a 100g i would only do 1 yellow or one purple tang

as for angels are you considering drawf/pygmy angels or large angels

if you do drawf/pygmy angels you could do pairs or trios or herims or you could due multiple types of drawfs/pygmys (small word of advice on multiples/pairs ect have lots of rock work for hiddy places and add the fishies at the same time)

large angels i realy like the scribbled angelfish they are prety docile for a large angel and beauties but kinda expensive

i woudln't dream of putting more than one of the same angelfish in a tank that's only 4 foot, but that's just me...

and 4 foot is too short for the sailfish (which get HUGE) or the regal

if you're going to do more than one heniochus get the H. diphruetes, the schooling bannerfish and add them all at once

you want to get rid of your aressive fish but you want to fill a tank with angels and tangs? lol

UPDATE:
The tank currently has 1 2" FP Clown and 2 1.5" Blue Hippo Tangs. I think I am going to wait a bit until the Hippos grow some then get the 3 Heniochus. Currently no one around here has any Heniochus so I will probably have to order them online.

As far as what I meant by getting away from an agressive tank, my tank is full of puffers, which kill just about everything that isn't already inhabiting the tank. I was hoping for something where the only agression is some chasing, but no actual biting or whatnot.

QUESTION: So one of the hippo tangs is doing great and is active and just seems a bit shy when you walk up to the tank. The other however is doing the playing dead thing and continues doing it today (just started yesterday). He moves occasionally, but doesnt appear to be eating. Any tips on this? How long do they typically do that for?
