Would one of those under the bed storage bins work as a temp tank for fish? Something like a catfish or stingray. Heres a link to one of the bins that I'm talking about.

The only problem I could forsee would be filtration but a DIY sump could be made. What do you think?

That one is only 7" tall, I'd go with something taller too. You can get something the same size for much less from Walmart. I almost got the same brand you are talking about but I found one the same size but much cheaper. Shop around.

If I calculated that right it's only 25 gallons? definetely not big enough for a stingray or catfish. If they made taller ones to add some volume it would be better. I wouldn't recommend a stingray or most catfish. Wouldn't you be worried about something like that bowing out?

In the very least, I think you found a new place too keep fish.

Unless you need a full lid you could cut the center out of the lid so it is open but still have the support of the lid being on acting as a brace. I would do one deeper as well. Lighting may also be an issue as the heat may melt the plastic or it becoming brittle and cracking. But why get something like this when you can find a used tank or even a new tank of equal size for almost the same price. How temporary would this be anyways? And why this instead of a tank.

You didn't state the size of the fish you want to temp. keep in there, but for anything over 4" and a day or two with really good filtration, I have to go with no also.

18g to the top edge, so more like 15g useable.
