Will this work for a 6x2 180 gallon

Opinions on if this is sufficient for the weight of my 180 gallon which will be going in my living room.

Its against a load bearing wall. The floor joists under the floor span 13 inches apart. There are 4 jack posts.

These were all put up years ago when I had a 125 here at one point and an 8x1.5 foot 180 gallon but was curious how it would do with a 6x2 180.

id say ur more than good lol... i have similar setup but only 2 posts under front of tank and its a 210 gallon

I had my 180 and a 90ish cube in that same kind of spot with no extra support at all. Mine was fine. Actually my joists were running the length of the tank.

I wouldnt even bother with the jack posts but they wont hurt. Good to go imo.

Thanks guys... the house is just older built about 80 years ago and although they were built stronger back in the day the flooring is sagging slightly in places of the house by a little, so it was worrying me lol...

I havent had problems leveling smaller tanks but how have you all leveled your bigger tanks since they are heavier to lift.... I know the floor is uneven causing one side of the tank saging about 1/5th - 1/6th of an inch... i dont want to use styrofoam bc it will raise the tank higher in the stand not fitting as fit in the wood notches of the stand..... I've used cardboard before to shimmy under the stand to level the tank bit any other suggestions?... is 1/5th- 1/6th of an inch an issue?

I use these to shim my tanks, cut off the extra portion, paint end to match stand.

Composite shims at big box stores should do the trick too. I'd get a level on there and determine how it looks. If truly 1/6 you're not lifting much.

Agree with this.

Wood shims will work but they can also compress a bit with time. The composite ones won't.

Can you guys post some pics of how you used your shims under your tanks?

I got the composite ones from lowes and dont know how I'm going to have to line them up along the whole tank to prevent gaps between the stand and floor
