Will this work for Bio media?

Hey I got these ceramic pellet sticks from a friend for free and I was wondering if I could use them for Bio media? I would put some in my canister filters. What do u guys think? Thanks!

Those aren't porous. Those are made to polish parts in a tumbler.

I don't think it would work very well for bio, might make an interesting substrate though!
