My confusion is the syncra ADV 9.0 supports a maximum of 2500GPH at 10 feet of head. But the input and output valve on the pump is at a maximum of 1 where as my ultima 2 2000 supports the exact same flow rates but input and output valves have 1.5 inch minimum not 1 like the pump. Does this mean i will need to buy a pump that has a 1.5 inch inlet and outlet? Or can I run 1.5 inch pipe and just reduce it when it gets to the inlet and out let of the pump to 1 inch from 1.5. I am not familiar with how this would affect flow rate.

Adding a couple PVC reducers from 1.5" down from the entry to the filter end, down to 1" port to the pump.
Might lose a little oomph but it will probably be negligible, I reduce pipes with a couple cheap hardware store PVC parts to fit all the time.
