I decided after reading many posts on building plywood tank to take the plunge and give it a go. Plan to go with a 70g to start with. They all talk of using epoxy, however I would like to know if this product would work?

Its called Bitu Proof (Acrylic Bitumen Waterproofer)
. Its used for Ponds so I assume its non toxic.

Thanks

This is the tank we're building and it is coated with Max ACR Epoxy. The base wood is plywood.

We used two coats - the first is a "bite" coat. After a two day cure the the surface was lightly sanded and a second coat was applied.

Thanks. I will contact the manufacturer and check with them.Let you guys know.

I forgot to include the link for the product in my previous post.
here it is:http://www.promasterpaints.com/waterproofing.htm

Looks like the Bitu-Proof is good. I'd like to know exactly what they mean by "membrane".
I have found also that if you can bypass all the techs and sales people and talk directly to the company chemist, it makes a big difference.

Good luck.

You get two types , one that requires you to use a membrane and one without. I have spoken to technical guy from promaster paints. He advised that it will work, so Ill be giving it a try.

whats the price per gallon?
